SPF = Sun Protection Factor:
A measure of how well sunscreen protects against UVB rays.
UVA vs. UVB Rays:
UVA rays are more responsible for the skin’s aging.
UVB rays are the rays that cause sunburn.
Also, under the new FDA sun care guidelines, look for sunscreen products that are labeled as “Broad Spectrum” because that will protect agains both UVA and UVB rays. Using that type of sunscreen can reduce the risk of skin cancer and early skin aging! Make sure you find one with an SPF of at least 15 and don’t forget to re-apply ever 1-2 hours! 😉
