Itchy skin? A hot shower is not going to help, because the very hot water can actually do some damage to your skin. To help stop the winter itchiness, keep the water lukewarm and use a mild, pH-neutral cleanser as you bathe — then moisturize your skin right away. And, to add extra moisture to the air, use a humidifier in your home. Ah, now that’s better.

The reason why I loved this tip is because I used to taught that itchiness is cause by some bacteria on body which die from a shower of the hot water. Also I did not moisturize the skin right away rather I used to water an hour or so before apply a moisturizer lotion on my body! But today I learned important lotion of how to keep my body moisturized.

Also, I am not just writing this comment because of the prize, but just when people will read this comment, they will also learn their mistake like I used to make!

Thanks Dr. Mona Gohara and Christie for bringing this up to me and many other readers of WildforCVS.com

Ooh we have to change to a Winter Moisturizer! I had not considered that before, but it makes sense!

I knew about the other things but the quick manicure was the one I had not given any thought to.

I am definitely switching to a winter moisturizer! I’ve lived with dry skin my whole life and never even considered using seasonal moisturizers. Great tip!

It had never occurred to me that I might need a *different* moisturizer for different seasons – but it makes sense.

Thank you for the giveaway!

Changing moisturizers when the seasons change is a great tip. I always forget to do that.

Seasonal Moisturizures!!! I’m almost embarrassed to say I never considered that concept lol. I’ve always used the same moisturizer year round.

The tip she left that most surprised me was to apply a little bit of Vaseline to your hands after washing to keep them in tact! What a helpful idea to overcome dry winter hands!

Use sunscreen all year round, not to skip it in winter- I need to remind myself more of it.

I was pleasantly surprised with her tip about adding Vaseline to cuticles and nail beds to keep them hydrated.

Never knew it was better to use lukewarm water and not a hot shower to fight itchy skin.

I am definitely agreed with the Sharpie’s comment. I tried using lotion right after taking shower last night and today morning, and it definitely makes our skin much better. It makes us feel like our skin is naturally moisturized, not due to the lotion. Also we feel less oil on our skin with more moisturizer. I am very glad to adopt to very useful technique to make my skin healthier.

I was really surprised by the tip to use Vaseline on your cuticles. Never thought about that! I’ve always used this cuticle oil that is pretty expensive – if the Vaseline works for me that would be great and I would save a lot of money, too! Thank you for the chance! 🙂

I was surprised to read the differences between water based summer lotions and rich cream lotions for winter!

I already knew the tips, but I was surprised that Vaseline was recommended to apply to the cuticles and nail beds to keep them hydrated.

You can help keep your skin’s natural barrier intact with Vaseline — just apply a small amount after washing your hands.

I was surprised that lips and eyelids are the thinnest skin we have, so during the winter it is important to keep your lips moisturized.

I didn’t know I should be using different moisturizers for winter vs. summer. I will be now.

Hot water dries out your skin! I didn’t know that but now I do.

I was surprised that hand sanitizer can strip your skin if it has a high alcohol content, so you should use it for emergencies, & instead you should wash your hands with a mild cleanser several times a day!
