When CVS has buy 1, get 2nd 50% off. Can I use a B1G1 with it, getting 3? Or do I need to get 4 to use their ad & my Q?

Hi Rachel – usually the cashier will take off the one that’s 50% off so it being on sale really won’t come into play. If it’s a B1G1 FREE sale though, you’d get both free!

Hi Christie, i love your site, Thank You for having it. I have a question, I am trying to get the $10 extra buck when you buy $30 of CVS products, so what would be the Best way to reach this goal?

So far I have gotten 2 free CVS coupons for free CVS panty liners, so I got those. I also was able to buy 2 CVS hand sanitizers on clearance for .97, 7 CVS 12ct washcloths for .37, 7 2-packs of CVS tissue for .25, 1 CVS 100ct aspirin for .50 and 1 CVS after shave for $1.25. However, I still have like $21.?? to reach my goal.

What would you recommend? Thanks, Kim

Wow – you are going to stock up on some good deals! 🙂

I would think about some of the stuff that you use frequently. I really like the CVS brand cotton balls and cotton rounds because it’s hard to get those FREE, rarely coupons for that kind of thing. So I tend to go for those kinds of products. Stuff, I know it’ll be hard to get cheap or free and I use a lot of. I wouldn’t bother with stuff you know you can get free like toothpaste, toothbrushes, etc.

Christie,
I received a $10. off $50., $5. off 2 excedrin, and a 30% off regular priced product. Can I use all 3? If so, is the money off after the 30% or before?
Thank you for your site, it has been very helpful.

confused about these cvs coupons …they say manufacture coupons can you stack with another one??

Reply

Christie September 29, 2011 at 11:10 am

It’s a mix of CVS store coupons and Manufacturer coupons only to be used at CVS. If they are in RED they are true CVS coupons. If they are in blue they are MQ that can only be used at CVS. Hope that helps!

Hi! I have a question about how CVS handles Buy one Get One 50% off. For example, If I bought the following items –

2 items @$10
2 items @$4
1 item @ $5
1 item @ $7

How do I know which are going to be 50% off? Is it based on like items, or the lowest price only? I am wondering for the sales that you have to spend a certain $ amount, to get ECB.
Thanks! I have am stumped!

You’ll probably get the lower priced ones 50% off if all the items are part of the same sale. So you’d get 50% off of the (2) $4 items and the $5 item. That’s usually how it works for me. Hope that helps!

I had this question myself a while back when they were doing a Buy 1 Get 1 50% off sale on Sally Hanson products that actually qualified for the gift card deal. I was also using B1G1 free coupons. In the end, i found that it made a big difference which order the products were rung up in. My receipt ended up looking like this:

Item 1 @ $6.99 (regular price $6.99)
Item 2 @ $3.49 (50% off of regular price $6.99)
Item 3 @ $5.49 (regular price $5.49)
Item 4 @ $2.75 (50% off of regular price $5.49)
Then i used 2 B1G1 free coupons that were specifically for the two cheaper items and they were for a maximum of $4.29 and when they rang them up, they both took off the max amount.

All 4 items were Sally Hanson products and all were part of the exact same promotion but the order in which they were scanned made a big difference! If it just took the 50% off of the two cheaper items, my coupons would not have counted for the full amount and i would have paid more out of pocket anyway. So just FYI.

Quick question about the coupons. You said they expire 12/31/11 but did you mean 12/12 instead? It doesnt make sense to post if they already expired! Thanks

I got a 30% off coupon when I scanned my card so I bought a moisturizer which was buy 1 get one 50% off and I bought a newspaper. When she scanned the 30% off coupon, I only got 11 cents off. Turns out you cannot use a 30% off coupon with any sale items. I read the coupon before I used it and did not see this. She said it was store policy. Do you know if this is right?
I basically wasted a very valuable 30% coupon.

Yes, like if you are in a test market with that special ad tomorrow that has the 20% off you won’t be able to use it with sale items. 🙁

My CVS doesn’t carry Reinventing Beauty. Is there a way to subscribe to it?

I love CVS! On my coupon blog my main attraction is CVS shopping scenarios…teaching people how to roll ECB. Wondering if you do any scenarios. I just got started a month or so ago and am having so much fun with it!

So a few questions I need some help with:
Is there a way to tell ahead of time what coupons will print for me from the magic coupon machine?
Starting this weekend, I am looking at a couple deals. Loreal Get $10 WYS $25. My question is, the Excellence haircolor is on sale 2/$12. Do I need to buy 5 of them to get this deal at $30….or if I buy 4 will that be enough to reach the $25 mark. I have had deals in the past that I have added up incorrectly and I have spent more than needed. I am just wondering if tax is included…or if items go off of regular price instead of sale price?
Also really looking forward to the Biore 2/$15 and $5ECB WYS $15! Is this just the pore strips or cleanser as well? I have been searching the site, but each time the deal is advertised only the pore strips are in the picture, but it says ALL Biore. Excited to use my Buy pore strips get cleanser free coupons and getting my $5 ECB back!
Thanks for your time and creating such an awesome blog!

I thought i found a treasure yesterday at CVS because these are never available in the store. So I bought 2 of them. I get home and was so excited about the coupons, then as I was clipping them, I realized these were last falls addition! I was so upset. Why would they put the old ones out? Loss of $1.98.

Kimberly! I did the same thing – my store STILL has the Christmas version out (w JLo on the cover). I didn’t pay attention, since why would you…you expect the current issue on newsstands. Anyhow, I emailed corporate/cvs customer service to complain about my expired coupons, and they apologized and mailed me a free copy of the one I meant to buy.

They also said they’d give my store a talking to about selling ancient magazines, but they’re still on display! Alas, there are bigger problems in the world. But really, customer service was great.

The same thing happened to me. I was told though that cvs will still accept the expired cvs Q’s . I was shocked and asked how long past the Exp. date and the cashier seemed unsure and said, ” about a month”. Hope this helps, it has helped me and i have used the expired cvs Q at multiple loctations with no problems. :o)

Hi Christie. Thank you so much for this blog; I check it multiple times a day! I have a question about one of the coupons in the Spring RIB magazine: One bottle of Biotene costs $10, and they’re on sale buy 2 get 1 free. Can I stack this B2G1Free with three of the $5 off $10 GlaxoSmithKlein oral care coupons in RIB or just two? And do you know if these are manufacturer’s coupons or cvs coupons? They are neither in red nor blue, and I’d love to stack them with the $1/1 mfq available on Biotene’s website. Thanks in advance!

CVS has become one of my favorite stock up stores for shampoo. The magic machine seems to be stuck on giving me the $2 off shampoo coupon and I have been using them. Recently, I spent OOP $.77 for 2 pantene shampoo, 2 pantene conditioner, and a bottle of palmolive detergent.
Have enjoyed this site it is very informative.

THE NEW REINVENTING BEAUTY MAGAZINE IS OUT & FULL OF A LOT OF Q’S!!!

Today I stopped in to my CVS on the way home and talked to the manager about the next Reinventing Beauty Magazine. She had just recieved them and even went to the back to get them for me. I grabbed myself 4 copies because there are sooo many coupons in this magazine, even more than the last issue.

Hi Christy,

How can i Best utilize a 20% off coupon. Usually I just let it slide, since it’s excludes sale item. I notice the coupon Ctr is not giving great coupons like 2 off pain or allergy. 5 off beauty. Is it because I utilized them in the past?
