Craig DVD Review & $25 CVS Gift Card Giveaway!

With students heading off to school and CVS offering a portable Craig 7″ DVD/CD player with remote control for only $59.99, plus a $10 gas card back, I just had to have my resident electronics expert review it for us. I am totally clueless in the electronics departmet. So, here’s my hubby Terry with his review…

Hi, folks! Stand alone DVD players can be pretty cheap these days, but a portable one with a built in battery and screen for only $59.99 caught my attention.

Out of the box, the unit feels solid. It comes equipped with a remote control, av cables to output to another TV, and an AC power cord. The sound from the speakers is not the best, but when using the earbuds, sound is excellent and is the recommended way to listen to anything on the player. There is no TV tuner, so if you need that feature, better to pass on this unit.

Picture looks very good and is fully adjustable with different aspect ratios, brightness, language audio controls, and subtitles. Picture can even be programmed to be displayed upside down, if you have an overhead setup. Very clever! In addition to DVDs, it plays VCDs, CDs, MP3s, WMAs, AVIs, and JPEGs. For the video geeks out there, one also has the option to set NSTC or PAL output, hinting that this may be a region free player. Unfortunately, I could not test out this feature. Remote control is very good, working very well at ordinary distance.

BONUS: When I bought my Craig DVD/CD player, I was given a $10 gas card! So you actually only pay $49.99 plus tax for the player AND you get $10 in free gas, a sweet bonus. Plus if you have a $/$$$ coupon or ECBs to spend you can bring the price down even further. So if you are looking for an inexpensive DVD player and don’t mind sticking to using the earbuds for sound, you might want to check this one out.

Congrats on the new adventure….now I can watch this and wags!!! What I would do just this week with $25.00 and a $4.00 off coupon: 2 Herbal Essense, 3 Garnier, 4 Skintimate or Edge, 3 Soft soaps, 3 renewzits, and 3 lysol wipes, total would come to 24.75 with $4.00 coupons and many others and then would leave me with a .25 cent credit for next time and I would get back 7 in ECB!!!!! OH YEAH!!!!

I would use the gift card to stock up on some more diapers, especially with the deal of the huggies coming up 🙂 can’t have too many diapers 🙂

We are potty training my youngest so we are in need of pull-ups. I would use the giftcard for that and maybe some chocolate, potty training is stressful 😉

Fun contest. So they had a TV in the ad this week and next week is a mini DVD player?

I’m good on the DVD player, but would use the $25 Gift Card to stock up on Caress bodywash when it’s an ECB deal. I picked up some coupons from the grocery store display and Caress is my absolute favorite!
