CVS: Crazy Speed Stick Coupon & Rebate!

by Christie on January 30, 2012

Did anyone else find that their Speed Stick coupon was automatically ringing up as $3.99 off?! If your Speed Stick transaction was way lower than you expected, that’s probably why. I’m not sure if this is happening to everyone, so let us know how your Speed Stick transaction rang up.

On another note – if you got the Colgate/Palmolive rebate in your Smart Source insert yesterday Speed Stick is one of the participating brands, so you can get $5 WYB $10+ of Speed Stick or another participating product! Submit for the rebate when you buy the $12 in Speed Stick products and you’ll have better than FREE Speed Stick, no matter how it rings up.

Mine rang up that way, I didn’t want my cashier to get into trouble, so, I told him, he said, “We no longer adjust the price, the computers are set to take the maximum value of the coupon”…It doesn’t even beep for them to adjust it……I’m in California btw 🙂

Mine rang up with the $3.99 taken off. One did ‘only’ take off $3.93! lol No beeps. I’m in SC.

Yes, I noticed the $3.99 too. My deal was better, I used the coupon 3 times, at first I was confused and then thought it had to be the speeds sticks.

Now I know why my coupon didn’t work at the self-checkout. It wouldn’t take it at all because I was only buying 2. So the clerk manually entered the value as 1.99. I still got them free because I bought 4 others at another store; the coupon there rang up at 3.99 so I just used one coupon.

For the rebate, I am kind of confused about the UPC… do we need to cut the UPC off the product, or just write down the information?

Reply

Tien January 30, 2012 at 5:11 pm

I peeled the UPC’s off and tape all of them on a piece of paper and even wrote my name on it so they wouldn’t lose it or anything. I’m trying to make it easier on them.

Mine rang up that way last night at the CVS by my house. I went to the CVS by my office this morning to do that deal again since I had more coupons and you could do it twice but this time it beeped for the cashier to adjust the price. I still walked away with a ton of speed sticks for hardly anything so no complaints here! Just interesting how one CVS does it differently than another. Thanks for pointing out that rebate too! I must have missed it. (I’m in Maryland BTW)

I found a bunch at my store for .99! They were Daringly Fresh and Sheer Chiffon. When she scanned my bogo coupons, one took off 1.00 and the other took off 3.99. So look for those clearance ones 🙂

I went to cvs on my lunch break and got 6 speed sticks, 3 greeting cards and a cadbury egg. My total was .87 after I used my speed stick coupons, and 2 coupons on the cards, one from cvs.com for $2/2 cards and one from coupons.com that says buy 2 cards get one free. It was an awesome day. So I have 2 coupons left for the deodarant and will go buy 2 more.

the first one rang up 3.99 then the cashier manually entered the 1.99 on the second one 🙁 ,but one of the body wash rang up 2.49, instead of 3.00, and Tom’s rinse came up t be 2.74, instead of 3.99 :)))

I bought 6 and only paid tax. Too bad I didn’t receive the rebate form but still a great MM.

I’ve seen on different blogs (about rebates) that most of them give you money back AFTER coupons… if you got the product totally free (like I did also, only paying tax) then will you actually qualify for the rebate? Sometimes it doesn’t say it in the fine print

Bought 8 deodorants today. Used 4 coupons. I paid tax of $1.23. The store manager handed me the $6.00 ECB. Amazing!

Got 6 and 6 free just paid tax. Had to go buy 2 more though at another store because 2 that I bought were $.99 and didn’t get me to my $12 mark. The second store I went to marked the coupon down to $1.99 instead of $3.99, but still a great deal and money maker. Can’t wait to see if the rebate works too. Thanks for the post and keeping the site up and running.

My CVS Lady would not let them go through for $3.99. She voided them and manually entered them for $1.99. I told her that I read online that many people have done the deal just fine but, she still would not let them go through.
She also tried to tell me that I could not use my coupon for Mentos that were on clearance. Has anyone else had this issue?

Sandy January 30, 2012 at 8:12 pm

Mine did not beep either. She just looked at the screen and said “I can’t let that go through like that”

I did the deal on Sunday morning and was surprised when I saw the computer take $3.99 off, the cashier didn’t adjust it. I’m bummed because none of my SS had the rebate in it and only one paper (I only bought 2 of that one) had the B1G1 and the other (bought 2 of that one) didn’t have it at all.

Just FYI CVS is losing a boat load of money because of the register glitch so don’t complain to0 much if the cashier catches it…it’s the right thing for them to do. I like my CVS very much and would not want to see them change their attitude toward coupons. They are very coupon friendly and I want them to stay that way 🙂 so personally I would tell them to adjust it down to the right price instead going with “oh well, it’s their problem if the cashier doesn’t catch it” 🙂

I did not complain because she is such a nice lady and is patient with me and usually happy to see me. LOL In the end I still got 2 free so I wasn’t really trying to complain. I know it came out that way. I was more bummed out. I love CVS and would never want them to stop these programs.

Thanks Christie, I was super hesitant to start doing cvs because I just didn’t understand how people got all this free stuff. I spent one weekend day to figure it out and it was a MAJOR lightbulb moment lol. So I did my first cvs deal for $5 OOP to get 7 extra care bucks to get me started this speed stick deal is my second trip so total I have spent $7 OOP and got $16 in EBC’s in 2 trips. This by far is the funnest thing I have ever done (i dont get out much lol)

I got 12 Lady Speed Stick and they all rang up at .99 cents. I handed the cashier 3 b1g1 coupons and all 3 took off $3.99 each …so I paid tax only for all 12 deodorants!
