CVS Updates: P&G Deal

by Christie on October 29, 2012

I wanted to give you all an update on the P&G Extrabucks deal for this week.

Many of you are finding the limit on this deal is actually (2) and not (1) as appears in the ad. The tricky part is that if you buy $60 worth in one transaction you will only get $10 ECBs. However, many of you are finding that when you do a second transaction with another $30 a second $10 ECB is printing!

If you did this deal or tried to do it more than once, let us know how it worked for you! You can see one of my favorite scenarios for this deal HERE.

I did the deal on my card for the p&g,I had 8 BOGO coupons,so I did 2 transactions to follow the guidelines on the coupon. I was VERY surprised to have another $10ecb the second time. Worked for me!!

I was able to do the P & G deal twice, but I did them in seperate transactions on seperate days. The first time I got Herbal Essence shampoo and conditioner and 2 covergirl wetslicks. Then today I got diapers and dawn. Had no issues! Hope it works for others as well!

I have a question. so my receipt says i need another .10 to get the 10ECB so that means that i can just buy dawn or something small right and get another 10 ECB?

Usually yes, this deal has been kind of wonky however. I would try something small like the dawn and see if it works. 🙂

As long as you hit at least 98% (I think that’s the percentage, I could be wrong)of the total needed, the ECB will print. But if you hit the max ECBs allowed, it won’t print anymore. I’ve noticed before when I have a receipt like yours that it will correct itself by the next day. For example, I did the Eucerin deal yesterday and my total was $19.96. It printed out the ECB and at the bottom of my receipt Spent $19.96 towards deal $.04 to redeem reward. Today I purchased some Herbal Essences product and at the bottom of the receipt it changed the Eucerin dealt to “Limit Reached.” When it’s pennies away for the “amount to redeem” I know that I have reached the limit. If it prints out at the bottom Spent $19.96 and $20.04 to redeem, then I know I can score another ECB. HTH 🙂

If you already received 2- $10 ECB’s this week for the P&G Deal you won’t get another. LOL I tried it. 🙂 You got the 2nd one just short of $60 because you hit the 98% rule.

My trip went all wrong…as I had to re-strategize in the store because the were totally out of the aveeno daily moisturizer. Which threw me off completely. I bought 2 pks of diapers, 8 shampoo and conditioners, 2 suave lotions, 1 physicians formula 9.79. Well none of my ecbs printed and since my kids were frustrating me I didn’t notice until I got home. I was supposed to get 10 for p&g and 6 for physicians form…is there anything that I can do to get my ECB’s.

Take your receipt back to the store & they should print them for you. I’ve had this happen several times & they have always printyed them for me with no problems.

Thanks Julie! Could I take it to any store or is it best to go to the same one I did the transaction.

If you don’t have time to go back to the store, just email CVS customer service (the contact form is on the CVS website). I have always emailed them when ECBs dont print or when a cashier missed a coupon. They respond within 1-2 days and issue the ECBs to your card (and print from the coupon machine or on your receipt).

I picked up 18 bottles of Herbal Essence shampoo and conditioner, used the BOGO coupon which deducted the full amount of $6.99, paid a total oop $1.49 and received $10 ECB’s. However, I don’t have the split ad so I think I’m only able to do this deal once.
