CVS $6/$30 Purchase Email & Great Scenario!

by Christie on September 5, 2013

Screen Shot 2013-09-05 at 2.53.56 PMWoo Hoo!  I got an email today from CVS for $6/$30 Purchase in celebration of their 50 year anniversary. Check your inbox.  I hope a lot of you received it.  Unfortunately for me, I already bought all of the hot items this week, like the Colgate Rinse and the Edge, but here’s a scenario I came up with some other things you can buy.

Screen Shot 2013-09-05 at 2.54.16 PMThe ACT Rinse is actually returning 1 ECB, limit 2, but this was not noted on the ad, and there are a couple of Kleenex boxes (85 ct and 70 ct Lotion) that have been on sale for 99¢ since August until 09/07. It’s still hot where I live and those cold Outshine fruit Bars are delicious, plus there are some printable coupons available for all these items.  I still had a couple of $6/3 Any Gillette Cartridge, Razor, or Shave Prep (that does not exclude trial sizes) coupon in my binder, so I threw that in to get to $30.

Screen Shot 2013-09-05 at 2.55.04 PMHere’s my idea:

CVS Deals (thru 09/07)
Buy (2) Pantene Shampoo or Conditioner, 2/$7 Sale Price
Buy (2) Outshine Bars, 6 ct, $3.99 Sale Price
Buy (2) ACT Anticavity Rinse, 18 oz, $3.99 Sale Price
Buy (3) Kleenex, 85 ct or Kleenex Lotion, 70 ct, 99¢ Sale Price
Buy (1) Gillette Fusion Proglide Irritation Defense, 2.5 oz $2.49
Buy (2) Gillette Satin Care Touch of Olay, $1.79 Reg. Price
Subtotal = $32
$6/$30 Purchase Email Coupon
(1) $2/2 Pantene Products (ets) printable
(2) $1.10/1 Multipack Outshine Fruit Bars or Coconut Waters Bars printable
(2) $0.75/1 ACT Kids Anticavity Rinse, 16.9 oz, or Adult Rinse, 18 oz
(1)
$0.55/1 Bundle or $0.55/3 Kleenex boxes 50 ct+ printable
(1) $6/3 Gillette Cartridge, Razor, Shave Prep, or Skin Product, exp. 9/30/13 (RP 08/11/13)
= $13.75 and get back $1 ECB for Pantene, and $2 ECB for both ACT Rinses
= $10.75 for everything or 90¢ each (which is still less than the cheapest item in the transaction)!

why not just save the coupon and use it towards the deals next wk? The expiration date extends 4 days so you don’t have until Sunday to use it. If you wait until Sunday to send it to your card, it’ll expire on Thursday.

Why don’t I get email from CVS for dollars off in store. I only get $ off for on line purchase. Any ideas why that is?

I agree with Mel. That is what I usually do.
