Ok here’s an update on that $6/$30 coupon that I got on my app. This one was not a surprise. I was able to see it before I headed to the store. I was able to send it to the card, and then it appeared along with the ECB’s, so I could choose when to APPLY it. I tried it SUNDAY and it did not work for me online. It kicked it off when I applied my ECBs. So I got different deals, then my order shipped out and new ECBs were issued to my account. I tried AGAIN. This time it worked. The first order it looked like I had to reach $30 after the ECBs were applied, but this time it did not do that. I ended up paying $10.98 OOP.
The only thing I can figure is they ECB’s were different somehow. I know I had the $10 from that P&G deal last week that I used on Sunday. Perhaps it’s some of these ECBs are coded differently. I had $47.93 in Cosmetics, then I used $10 in CVS Coupons for specific products, and I used a $7/$35 Cosmetics coupon, leaving $30.93 before any ECBs, then I applied the $6/$30, then I applied my $14 in ECB’s ($5+$2+$2+$2+$3), then I paid $10.93 before taxes. Woo hoo! So I would suggest you try out a deal and see if you are able to use it online.
Also be on the lookout for an awesome “We’re Here to help” coupon on your receipt. My $6/$30 coupon that printed for me last week on my receipt (NOT the one above I used this week) was labeled $6/$30 Purchase — We’re here to help. But, my friend just got one for $2 — We’re here to help! Methinks CVS likes my friend more 🙁 .

Do you know if this is happening with all $ off $ purchase coupons. For example, I had a $3 off $10 L’Oréal coupon. I also had a CVS coupon for free mascara and tried to use $2 ECB. It would not take my $3 off $10 because with the other coupons it was under $10. CVS has never functioned like that but I feel like it is happening a lot more lately….I just never can trust what coupons will come off.
Hi Laurel, I’ve never gotten a Free L’Oréal Mascara coupon because I don’t use that brand cosmetics, but with the FREE hair color coupon, I can’t use any other coupons with it. I used to be able to buy like two boxes of L’Oréal Excellence and use the FREE box and like a $5/2 MFG coupon and $14 would come off, but not any more. Some random amount is credited (not the full $9) if I do that, so I just started doing one transaction for a free box by itself. However, I was able to use both a MFG coupon and the $9 online. It worked like it used to work in store. Have you tried buying it online?
